Remote Power Supply
OPERATION FROM A REMOTE CENTRAL SYSTEM SUPPLY
Most Famco emergency luminaires and Exit signs can be supplied to operate from a central battery system supply. The remote power supply voltage must be specified when ordering.
The MasterMinder MLC system can also be used on central systems to monitor, test and record the operation of the system and to help maintain economically its designed safety.
ORDERING REMOTE POWER SUPPLY LUMINAIRES
Specify the standard Famco catalogue number followed by /CS/ and the voltage and supply type.

Terminology
REMOTE POWER SUPPLY
An emergency luminaire designed to operate from a remote central battery system.
SELF CONTAINED
An emergency luminaire with integral battery charger, inverter(where used) and controls for sensing power failure and changing over to the built in emergency batteries and vice versa.
MAINTAINED
An emergency luminaire in which the single emergency lamp operates on both normal and emergency supplies.
NON MAINTAINED
An emergency luminaire in which the lamp operates on emergency supply only, on failure of the normal supply.
COMBINED (SUSTAINED)
An emergency luminaire containing separate lamps for mains and emergency operation. Can be either combined maintained (emergency lamp on when switched active is on) or combined non-maintained (emergency lamp on only when the unswitched active is off)
